BLUE MOON ACRES Romaine Lettuce Recall
— UPDATE —
As of November 26, 2018 the CDC is narrowing its warning to consumers. The CDC is advising that U.S. consumers not eat and retailers & restaurants not serve or sell any romaine lettuce harvested from the Central Coastal growing regions of northern and central California.
If you do not know where the romaine is from, do not eat it.
Blue Moon Acres has confirmed their source is uncontaminated. However, we have pulled this item from our store inventory per the advisement of the CDC. The CDC is advising U.S. consumers not eat any romaine lettuce until we learn more about the outbreak. This investigation is ongoing and the advice will be updated as more information is available.
Consumers who have any type of romaine lettuce in their home should not eat it and should throw it away, even if some of it was eaten and no one has gotten sick.
This advice includes all types of romaine lettuce, such as whole heads of romaine, hearts of romaine, and bags and boxes of precut lettuce and salad mixes that contain romaine, including baby romaine, spring mix, and Caesar salad.
If you do not know if the lettuce is romaine or whether a salad mix contains romaine, do not eat it and throw it away.
Wash and sanitize drawers or shelves in refrigerators where romaine was stored.
Full refunds will be offered to anyone who purchased Romaine from deliveries just prior to November 21, 2018. Receipts are ideal for Owners (but sales can be pulled up on POS); Non-Owners must present a receipt.
NOTE: These item should not be returned to the store.
